RE: Does anyone make?

Jayco makes several models with rear Queen slides in their EXP line. We have a 213 and love it. Yes, late night trips to the bathroom can be an issue but if you're getting up in the middle of the night for those trips don't you have an issue anyway? I suspect that no matter what RV you have, given the close quarters, unless you and your spouse are in separate beds at opposite ends of the RV, you are going to disturb them unless they sleep like I do. Thunderstorms typically don't even wake me.

RE: Good sam trip routing

I complained to them last week. They responded by giving me these two links. Haven't tried either, used AAA Trip routing.

RE: Out west trip

My family did the trip from Indiana to Yellowstone. Going out we went the northern route through Iowa, South Dakota, etc. Coming back we dropped down to I-70 and came back East.
Everyone's recommendations are good but I would add a stop at Hell's Half Acre

RE: Devil's Tower RV Parking

With your rig you'll probably want to stop at the lower lot. Upper lot doesn't have a lot of RV parking and unless you "create your own" in one of the gravel lots you have to parallel park along the access road.

There are also a few camp sites there. First come first served.
It's worth the trip if you enjoy exploring natural wonders.

RE: Towing w/a Toyota Tacoma

Crowe, I have a Tacoma Double Cab short bed and tow a Jayco 213 (4300# dry). I use an Equalizer WD hitch and Prodigy controller. Been from Indiana to Yellowstone and back. Averaged 10 mpg on the trip, including miles unhitched. Worst was 6 mpg crossing Iowa with a head wind. With equalizer I get a mild lateral push when being passed by semis going the same direction. Meeting one on a two lane is no problem because the push is so brief the hitch damps it.

Don't know about camping there if if you're in the area it's worth a side trip. We were there last summer. Follow this link then scroll to photos titled "Devil's Tower"

RE: What to put on trailer corner to prevent cover from ripping?

I had some scraps of 2-inch blue foam from a building project. Cut some notches so it would fit the corners. Put over top and bottom corners. I only did the top and got tears on the bottom.
Be forewarned, expect some wear on the edges of your roof. I live in a windy area also and this sprng when I removed the cover there were thin spots on the edges where the roof joins the side walls.

RE: Electric Jack Tube Diameter

Thanks all! I knew you'd have the answer.
BTW, I looked under the tongue and the hole on mine is the same size diameter as the upper (larger) tube.

Electric Jack Tube Diameter

I'm interested in an electric jack for my TT, and I've read many of the posts here on RV.net, but I have one question. Where do you measure to determine what size tube diameter to buy? On my current jack the bottom tube that moves is 2 inches, but the upper tube that gets bolted to the frame is 2.21 inches. How do I make sure I buy one that will fit?

RE: Baltimore to Goshen Indiana

You are absolutely right to avoid the Turmpike. I used to make a yearly trip from Indiana to Philadelphia. I took the Turnpike the first time, and never again.
I recommend I-70 to I-68, otherwise you're not avoiding all of the Turnpike. At Morgantown, WV take I-79 north to I-70.
I've never been on 33 but looking at my map I'd recommend you go a bit further north and take 30 from arond Lima, OH to Fort Wayne, IN. 30 is a divided highway, 33 is not. After Fort Wayne get on 33 to Goshen.

RE: Anybody Canceling Trips Because Of Fuel Prices?

Other issues are keeping me close to home this year. Gas prices will not keep me from a RV vacation, because of my priorities. When I weigh the freedom, convenience and contact with the outdoors versus the hassle of air travel and the isolation of hotels, RV travel wins hands-down. Of course, I'm also a hunter/fisherman/hiker/outdoors kind of guy, as are my wife and daughter. I travel by air and stay in hotels for business more days a year than I care to count.
If your priorities are different, that's OK with me. If gas prices are keeping you home then that means less traffic and more campsites for me and other like-minded RVers.
